Originating from traditional glee club/a cappella culture, and enhanced by the popular TV show, Glee teaches young people (ages 8-14 years old) to sing and perform pop and musical theater music- ranging from the 50s and 60s to present-day.  Students learn to sing solo, as well as backup, harmony, and ensemble singing.  They actively participate in class, and are also assigned practice tasks during the week.  They perform together both formally and informally. Additionally, students learn basic body movement and choreography, as well as performance techniques that develop character and engaging the audience.  Finally, they learn the basics of vocal percussion and also how to use sound equipment.
